Day 1 is in the books and Kahua Kukui 2015 is underway. We had a great day here on campus. After playing Nina's Cruise Ship we headed up to Pu'u O Manoa (Rocky Hill) where we did a variety of service projects, nature activity and games with the TA's. Mrs. Oshiro treated us to Melona Bars at the Alumni House before we headed back down and made our way to the pool.
We ended the day by debriefing and spitting up in to different groups to do work in and around F3. Tomorrow we are off to meet up with the Kahua Kukui Founder Carri Morgan in Ka'a'awa. Looking forward to it! For more information about the pictures ask your child to explain what we were up to!
See you tomorrow!
This unique summer program encourages students to think about the environment and learn how they can make a difference. Our hope is that by immersing the students in a variety of hands-on, explorative, inquiry –based learning experiences it will inspire them to take action and one-day play a key role on our quest towards global sustainability.
Our service learners will go on field trips that allow them to explore, learn and get a chance to take action. This hands-on approach will help us identify the needs of the world around us and thus design and implement solutions.
